Gorgeous floral scrollwork repousse and chased sterling silver lid atop an elongated narrow cut crystal vanity, tobacco, trinket, jewelry, or otherwise box. Hallmarked "G.?.R.H [in a shield]", "[lion passant]" (Sterling), "Town Mark" (Chester), and a cursive "D". We originally believed the makers mark to be from "George Nathan & Ridley Hayes" but the date mark appears to be earlier than their known works. Measures 8-7/8" L x 1-3/8" W x 1-1/2" H. Total weight 276g.
