A continental bronze figure. Late 19th/early 20th century. depicting a helmeted warrior, the right hand holding a spear overhead and the left hand holding a shield. Signed "W Volz (Wilhelm Volz, German, 1855-1901) tobase above marble. Foundry mark "A Kierhut Munchen" below right foot. Bronze measures 9" 22.9cm) high x 9 1/2" (24.1cm) wide.
