Beautifully hand painted battle scene to this antique French plate, surrounded by a cobalt and gold border to rim. Handwritten inscription on the back of the piece "Le grand Conde a la Bataille de Rocroy". Seals "Sevres 1844" and Chateau des Tuileries (a piece intended for this royal residence), dating back to the 19th century. Artist signature on horse's hindquarter. Measures 9 5/8" in diameter. Weighs 1lbs.,3oz.
