Eben Farrington Comins (American,1875-1949) fresco painting on plaster over board / panel depicting an art deco lady. Signed in a stylized monogram "EFC" in between the date 1931 "19[EFC]31". Exhibited in the Corcoran Gallery of Art (was an art museum in Washington, D.C., United States, that is now the location of the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design, a part of the George Washington University) in the Comins' one man show "Frescoes by Eben F. Comins, March 31–April 22, 1931" exhibition. Stretcher is bordered in metal, possibly to create the recess in which plaster was applied to the board, to form the base to which the pigments were applied to. Artist and exhibition details inscribed in pen to stretcher, including a later "DO NOT TOUCH WITH WATER" in marker. Work measures 24" H x 18" W x 1-1/4" D. 27 photos.
